Danantara to Manage Land Owned by 28 Companies Whose Licenses Were Revoked

Published on January 26, 2026, by CNN Indonesia

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia — Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the land and economic activities of 28 companies whose business permits were revoked will be managed by the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency, also known as BPI Danantara.

“Regarding the issue of who will manage the land or types of businesses revoked by the state, management will be handed over to Danantara,” Prasetyo said, as quoted by Detikfinance, Monday (26/1/2026).

Twenty-two companies are planned to be managed by PT Perhutani, and six others by Antam or MIND ID.

“Danantara has appointed PT Perhutani to manage the land and economic activities. This means Perhutani will manage 22 companies, because the mining permits were handed over to Antam or MIND ID,” he added.

Prasetyo denied the notion that companies whose permits were revoked are still operating. He stated that the administrative process is still ongoing.

“Let me clarify. The concern regarding [a statement] that ‘the State Secretary said [the permit] was revoked, but [the companies] are still allowed to operate,’ is not true,” said Prasetyo.

President Prabowo Subianto revoked the permits of 28 companies found guilty of violating forest destruction and triggering flooding on Sumatra Island on Tuesday (20/1/2026).

Prabowo received an investigative report from the PKH Task Force regarding the companies suspected of violating the permits. Of the 28 companies, 22 are engaged in forest utilization (PBPH) businesses, covering 1,010,592 hectares of natural forests and plantations.

The remaining six companies are engaged in mining, plantations, and business permits for the utilization of timber forest products (PBPHHK).
