Danantara Monitor Urges FATF to Review Indonesia’s Commitment

Danantara Monitor coalition sent a letter to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Secretariat on Wednesday (1/7/2026), asking to initiate a review on Indonesia’s obligations as a full FATF member.

The request was made following the enactment of Law No. 4 of 2026 amending Law No. 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector, popularly known as P2SK.

The coalition believes that the new law, especially the Article 50A, constitutes a breach of Indonesia’s obligations as a full member of the FATF because Indonesia is expected to implement and effectively enforce the FATF Recommendations on anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and proliferation financing.
