Danantara Builds Rp3 T WTE Power Plant in Bali

Danantara Indonesia began the construction of a waste-to-energy facility (PSEL) worth Rp3 trillion in Pedungan Village, South Denpasar. The project is expected to start operating in the first semester of 2028.

The inauguration was done by PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM) with PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera). The Bali PSEL is the first waste-to-energy project developed by Danantara with a capacity to process 1,500 tons of waste a day.

While dubbed as the first waste-to-energy facility in Bali by local media outlets, it is worth noting that Bali has several waste processing facilities prior to Danantara’s. For example, Kesiman Kertalangu in Denpasar. Klungkung also recently received a machine to process waste from a New Zealand company called Andersons Group.
