Jakarta (ANTARA) – Pandu Sjahrir, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara Indonesia), plans to open a corporate university, the Danantara Indonesia Academy, with completion targeted within the next two years.

“In the next two years, we want to create a world-class university,” Pandu said at the ImpactPreneurs Summit 2025 in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He explained that his office will consolidate all corporate universities within state-owned enterprises.

The Danantara Indonesia Academy will offer both general learning and specialized learning.

Currently, preparations for the Danantara Indonesia Academy are still in the organizational and operational model development stage. The next steps will include operational standardization, legal integration, and operational integration before full operation.

With the presence of the Danantara Indonesia Academy, Pandu said, Indonesia’s top talents can pursue quality education without having to continue their studies abroad. They are also expected to be able to compete competitively with global universities in the next decade.

“Therefore, if we want Indonesia to become a G7 country, we must have a global-scale university recognized as one of the best in the world. Otherwise, we will not progress,” Pandu said.

On the same occasion, Pandu also encouraged Indonesia’s young generation to build startups, emphasizing human resources and ecosystem development.

He advised aspiring entrepreneurs to adopt a new paradigm in developing startups, such as focusing on value creation and building an adaptive and scalable structure.

The Danantara CIO also reminded aspiring startup founders to be flexible in accepting input. “Treat funding partners not just as investors, but as partners. They can be very helpful, especially in the areas of human resources and company infrastructure development,” he added.
