Jakarta (ANTARA) – Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara Indonesia) has officially formed PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara, also known as Denera.

Denera was formed on April 1, 2026, as a subsidiary of PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM), which will focus on waste-to-energy (WtE) projects.

“Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara is a newly formed company by Danantara Investment Management (DIM) on April 1, 2026, whose focus is to run the PSEL programs,” said the Lead of Waste-to-Energy and DIM Investment Director Fadli Rahman at the Afternoon Coffee Session in Wisma Danantara on Thursday.

Denera will control a 30% stake in each of the WtE projects, while the Construction and Management Business Entity (BUPP) will control 70% of the project. Danera will also be responsible for the project’s operations. Each project will need an investment of Rp2.5 trillion to Rp2.8trillion.

“Denera will also be an integrated company in terms of waste management. So, integrated waste management is one thing that must be truly focused on, namely PSEL,” said Fadli.
Fadli said the PSEL project is a key driver in building an integrated waste management system.

He said the PSEL project not only generates electricity but also encompasses waste management from upstream to downstream, from disposal sites, processing, and recycling.

“And how will we educate the public to manage waste better? Because the culture must also change in waste management. We will also focus on developing waste management beyond household waste, such as industrial waste,” Fadli said.

Danantara aims to open the second batch of PSEL project tenders in April 2026, with tenders for 25 cities across Indonesia.

Danantara’s Managing Director of Stakeholder Management and Communications, Rohan Hafas, said that the number of cities involved in the second batch will be much higher than the initial phase due to the high level of interest from local governments in this massive government project.

“There are 25 cities in the second batch. So, almost all provincial capitals will receive waste processing facilities,” Rohan said.
