Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — President Prabowo Subianto mentioned the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) at the 2025 People Consultative Assembly (MPR) Annual Session and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) on Friday (August 15, 2025).
He said Danantara was formed to attract investments and expedite efforts to add value to natural resources and other strategic sectors. These are intended to open high quality job opportunities.
“Danantara is an investment management agency which manages more than US$ 1 trillion,” Prabowo said during the annual session on Friday.
Danantara, Prabowo said, will create millios of high-quality jobs, especially in the so-called downstreaming sector.
Danantara was formed in February 24, 2025. Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani said there are 844 state-owned companies and their subsidiaries under Danantara.
Rosan said Danantara comes at the right time. He said Danantara was born at a time when geopolitical tension is rising rapidly which waking up many nations to rely on their own economic power.
