KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. South Korean President Lee Jae Myung opened an opportunity to expand cooperation and investment through Danantara.
Lee directly told President Prabowo Subianto during a state lunch banquet at Blue House, the Republic of Korea’s Presidential Palace Cheong Wa Dae, on Wednesday (1/4/2026).
Lee highlighted the great potential of strategic investment through Danantara Fund, especially due to its global scale.
“I also look forward to the strong strategic investment cooperation carried out through Danantara, which has grown into a global-scale sovereign fund,” he said in an official statement on Wednesday (1/4/2026).
On that occasion, Lee also expressed his appreciation for President Prabowo’s support for South Korean companies investing in Indonesia.
Lee also mentioned the successful joint fighter jet development cooperation as a symbol of opening up opportunities for broader collaboration, including in the maritime sector and artificial intelligence technology.
Lee emphasized the shared vision of both leaders in prioritizing the welfare of the people and their commitment to fostering inclusive growth for all.
“President Prabowo and I share many common views, namely that the happiness and welfare of the people are the top priorities in running our governments,” Lee said.
Describing the close relationship between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea, Lee cited an Indonesian proverb that reflects a close and mutually reinforcing bond.
Lee was optimistic about the future of increasingly strong and mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.
“Building on this foundation, I am confident that the friendship, trust, and cooperation between our two countries will yield brilliant results,” Lee said.
