HM Sampoerna Buys 500 Billion Rupiah of Danantara’s Patriot Bond

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Listed cigarette maker PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk. (HMSP) bought long term bond known as Patriot Bond issued by Danantara Indonesia totalling Rp500 billion on October 21, 2025.

 

In its statement, HMSP bought two traches of bonds issued by PT Danantara Investment Management (Persero). HMSP bought Serie A worth Rp250 billion with 2% coupon annually and mature at October 22, 2030. The company also bought Serie B worth Rp250 billion with 2% coupon annually and mature at October 21, 2032.

 

“However, this participation reflects the Company’s commitment to supporting sustainable development and government programs in environmental management,” the company said in an IDX  disclosure on Friday (24/10).

 

The management said the total value of the Rp500 billion investment represents 1.76% of the company’s equity based on its audited annual financial statements as of December 31, 2024. 

 

Therefore, this investment does not constitute a Material Transaction as defined in Financial Services Authority Regulation No. 17/POJK.04/2020 dated April 21, 2020 on Material Transactions and Changes to Main Business Activities.

 

Daya Anagata Investment Management Agency issued Patriot Bonds. Based on information gathered by CNBC Indonesia, the bonds are targeted to raise Rp50 trillion to fund waste to energy projects.
