Danantara Prepares Rp210 Trillion Debt Ceiling for Merah Putih Cooperative

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The clarity of funds disbursement to Red-and-White Village Cooperatives from the state-owned banks, known as Himbara, had reached a bright spot.

 

Deputy Cooperative Minister Farida Farichah said Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) agreed to provide Rp210 trillion debt ceiling for the development of Red-and-White Village Cooperatives.

 

The funds will be disbursed from Himbara banks to the Village Cooperatives. Farida said the fuds will be divided evenly from three largest state-owned lenders.

 

Each lender, namely BNI, Mandiri, and BRI will manage about Rp66 trillion fund. The rest, Rp12 trillion, will be placed in BSI. He said funds that large will be prepared to support development of 80,000 Village Cooperatives across Indonesia.

 

Cooperative Ministry hopes that the financing support can immediately translated into the acceleration on the operational level of Red-and-White Village Cooperatives.

 

“Representing Cooperative Ministry, we request your support for the acceleration [efforts] that we have done can actually accelerate the operation,” Farida said.

 

As per Tuesday (28/10), the Cooperative Ministry recorded 82,246 Red-and-White Village Cooperatives that have legal entity status. Out of the number, as many as 16,485 cooperatives have stores and the number of total active stores are 22,351 units.

 

Furthermore, there are 1.13 million people involved as members of cooperatives and 687,032 people are supervisors of cooperatives.
