Jakarta: The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) announced that more than 100 investors have registered for the second phase of the waste-to-energy (PSEL) project development in various regions.

“We will open the second phase soon. More than 100 have already registered,” said Danantara Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Pandu Sjahrir in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Monday, May 11, 2026.

According to Pandu, the PSEL project development is not entirely funded by Danantara, but through a Government-Private Partnership (KPBU) scheme from the winning bidder.

“Not (all funded by Danantara), there are partners as well, there are other investors involved,” he said.

Pandu said the partners involved will be selected based on the best technology for waste processing. He explained that the total value of the PSEL project development being prepared by the government is around US$5 billion, or around Rp87 trillion.

According to Pandu, the amount covers a total of around 33 PSEL projects in various regions. “The total project value is US$5 billion,” said Pandu.

Investment in each project is approximately Rp2.7 trillion.

He said each project is estimated to have an investment value of around US$150 million, or approximately Rp2.7 trillion.

Pandu added that PT Danantara Investment Management, along with its subsidiary, PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera), will participate in all of the PSEL projects.

On the same occasion, the government, along with Danantara, and several local governments, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to accelerate the development of PSEL in six locations.

The six locations include Lampung Raya, Serang Raya, Medan Raya, Semarang Raya, Bogor Raya 2, and Bekasi Regency. The government is targeting PSEL development in 25 locations, covering 62 regencies/cities with emergency waste conditions or waste accumulations exceeding 1,000 tons per day.

The program is implemented based on Presidential Regulation Number 109 of 2025 concerning the acceleration of the development of waste processing into electrical energy based on environmentally friendly technology.
